Established by working artists and art teachers who were located in historic Fort Mason Art and Cultural Center, FMA will provide adults, both young and senior art makers, of all levels of experience, with unbiased and affordable access to an innovative, safe and supportive learning environment.
Seeing a need to fill the void of recent closures and to feed the artistic spirit of San Francisco, Fort Mason Artists has established a non-profit in order to continue providing art workspace and classes. If you are creative and want space to work and learn in, come join our amazing community!
The Mission of the Fort Mason Artists nonprofit is to provide an art center with affordable educational opportunities, and safe and reliable work and exhibition space. We will teach advance skills in a host of media, engaging all ages in creative pursuits. Join us and unleash your creativity.
Some of us started at Fort Mason in the ‘70s when Fort Mason Art Center opened its doors as a part of S.F. Community Education; others joined when City College moved in offering credit and non-credit art classes in the early ‘90s.
